Easy Honey Wheat Bread
A slightly sweet bread to bake in your bread machine
Equipment
- Hamilton Beech Bread Machine
Ingredients
- 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour I use Central MIlling's white whole wheat
- 1.5 cups Pastry or White Bread Flour I use Central Milling's white pastry flour
- 1 tbsp Sugar I use organic raw sugar
- 1.5 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Active Yeast
- 1 tbsp Vital Wheat Gluten
- 1/4 cup Coarse Ground Mixed Grains I use Central Milling's steel cut cracked 6 grain
- 1/8 tsp Baking Powder Optional
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1 small Egg
- 1 cup Water
- 1/4 cup Whole Milk
Instructions
- This is a bread machine recipe so that means easy peasy on the instructions. First, remove bread cooking container from machine to add ingredients
Wet Ingredients – These go in first
- Add water and milk
- Add egg
- Add butter
- Add honey
Dry Ingredients
- Add whole wheat flour
- Add salt, sugar, baking powder and wheat gluten
- Add white flour
Yeast
- Add yeast as the last ingredient. Do be sure that it does not sit on top of the salt.
Notes
This is a variation of the White Wheat Basic recipe in the Hamilton Beech guide. It is set to produce a 1.5lb loaf.
Once the ingredients are assembled, select Cycle 1, 1.5lb size and light crust and press start.
